The CEES Seminar Series presents:
*Alex Amann, *Natural Resources and Ecology MS Student
*Nutrient Loading from Headwater Adirondack Streams During Variable
Hydrological Conditions*
Rapid shifts in water quality during episodic high-flow events can
disproportionately affect annual nutrient loading from forested headwater
catchments. In the Lake Champlain Basin, forests cover the majority of the
land area, yet there may be differences in nutrient export based on forest
age and management practices. In this study, we assessed forest composition
in four headwater catchments as well as collected water samples during
baseflow and high flows in order to compare biogeochemical responses
between catchments to particular flow events.
*Friday May 1,** 3:30**pm. *
*Hudson 106*
*Reception prior to the talk at 3:00*
