Please note that ENG 161, Introduction to Fiction, will shortly (before
registration) be listed in the catalog as a Cardinal Core class, in the
Individual Expression category. It is a 3-credit course, no prerequisites.
Here is a description of the course: Students will read texts that
highlight the variety of the fiction genre, such as short stories,
novellas, flash fiction, graphic novels, and novels. They will learn how to
analyze fiction, using the terminology of literary criticism, thus gaining
a deeper appreciation of what fiction can offer the reader.
