Don’t Forget Your Roommates with Fur, Fins, or Feathers!

Campus Community,

In an emergency, your first instinct is to look out for yourself and your
friends—but what about your pets? Whether you’ve got a cat in your dorm, a
pup at your apartment, or even a bearded dragon in a terrarium, they need a
safety plan too.

Here’s how to get them “emergency-ready”:


   -

   Find Pet-Friendly Spots – Know which shelters or hotels allow pets in
   case you need to evacuate.
   -

   Pack a Pet Go-Bag – Food, water, meds, leash/carrier, toys, and vet
   records (plus a pic of you + your pet just in case).
   -

   Update Their ID – Make sure collars have current tags. Microchips =
   bonus protection.
   -

   Have a Backup Buddy – Ask a neighbor or friend to step in if you’re not
   home when an emergency hits.
