Black Solidarity Day Social Justice Teach-In: Save the Date for Monday, November 3, 2025

Our fourth annual Black Solidarity Day Social Justice Teach-In will take
place on Monday, November 3, 2025. This year’s theme is: “Meeting the
Moment: Amplifying Our Voices and Efforts.”

Black Solidarity Day is an opportunity to explore the meaning of social
justice and civic engagement in a globally diverse society. The day will
feature concurrent sessions across campus for the Plattsburgh and
Queensbury community to “highlight disparities, racial injustices, societal
inequities, and illuminate how Black voices are integral to American life”
and to our SUNY Plattsburgh community.

We invite any employees, students, and community groups to submit proposals
that reflect creative, collaborative approaches to shared learning and
reflection across our Plattsburgh and Queensbury campuses.

We encourage proposals that explore this year’s theme through topics such
as community building, belonging, racial justice, anti-racism, and broader
social justice issues. The sessions can be led by students, faculty, staff,
and community members. We welcome presentations in a variety of formats,
including workshops, lectures, performances, readings, discussions, and
interactive exercises. Sessions may run 50, 90, or 110 minutes.
Collaborative and co-facilitated proposals are encouraged, and student-led
sessions are especially welcomed.
