Dear SUNY Plattsburgh Student,

As you prepare for Winter and Spring 2026 registration, please be aware of
these important dates and other information about this process.

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION*

*Registration Holds*

Registration Holds will prevent you from registering for courses.
Registration holds must be cleared before you can register for Winter and
Spring 2026 courses. If applicable, you can view your registration holds as
follows:
Log into MyPlattsburgh <http://my.plattsburgh.edu/> and click on the
Student tab.
When on the Student tab, navigate to the Registrar drop-down and select My
Holds.

If you have one or more holds, please refer to How to Clear Registration
Holds

Registration PINs are required for currently enrolled undergraduate
students, readmitted undergraduate students and incoming transfer students.
During the advisement and priority registration periods, you will need to
request your PIN from your advisor.
Students who have not obtained a PIN from their advisor by November 10th
should contact the Academic Advising Office (advise at plattsburgh.edu,
518.564.2080)

Registration PINs are not required for:
Graduate students
Students currently studying abroad
Winter session registration

5-week Winter Session courses run Dec. 22, 2025 - Jan. 23, 2026. 3-week
Winter Session courses run Jan. 5, 2026 - Jan. 23, 2026.
Registration for 5-week Winter Session courses: Oct. 27, 2025 (10 a.m.) -
Dec. 28, 2025 (11:30 p.m.) for matriculated students
Registration for 3-week Winter Session courses: Oct. 27, 2025 (10 a.m.) -
Jan. 6, 2026 (11:30 p.m.) for matriculated students
Registration for 5-week Winter Session courses: Nov. 3, 2025 (10 a.m.) -
Dec. 28, 2025 (11:30 p.m.) for non-matriculated students
Registration for 3-week Winter Session courses: Nov. 3, 2025 (10 a.m.) -
Jan. 6, 2026 (11:30 p.m.) for non-matriculated students
December 17, 2025 (8 a.m.) – All winter 2026 waitlists cleared.


*Spring 2026 Course registration*
Oct. 24, 2025 (8 a.m.) - Feb. 1, 2026 (11:30 p.m.): Graduate students
Oct. 27, 2025 (8 a.m.) - Feb. 1, 2026 (11:30 p.m.): Students in online
programs, students studying abroad during Fall 2025, all SUNY Plattsburgh
at Queensbury students, Spring 2026 readmits, and athletes in season in
Spring 2026
Nov. 3, 2025 (8 a.m.) - Nov. 16, 2025 (11:30 p.m.): Priority registration
for matriculated main campus students
Nov. 10, 2025 - Students who have not obtained a PIN from their advisor
should contact the Academic Advising Office
Nov. 17, 2025 (10 a.m.) -  Feb. 1, 2026 (11:30 p.m.): Course adjustment,
PINs not required
Nov. 17, 2025: Late Registration fee of $40 applied
Jan. 5, 2026 (10 a.m.) -  Feb. 1, 2026 (11:30 p.m.): Non-Matriculated
students

*Additional Spring 2026 Dates and Deadlines*

Jan. 21, 2026 (8 a.m.): Waitlists cleared
Jan. 26, 2026 (8 a.m.): Classes begin
Jan. 30, 2026 (4 p.m.): Credit Hour Overload approval deadline
Jan. 30, 2026 (4 p.m.): Deadline for Independent Study, Research practicum,
Internship Registration paperwork
Feb. 1, 2026: Add/Drop ends 11:30 p.m
Feb. 2, 2026: Course Withdrawal begins (full-semester courses)
Feb. 9, 2026: Course Withdrawal fee applied ($20/course)
Apr. 10, 2026: Last Day for Unrestricted Course Withdrawal (full-semester
courses)
May 9, 2026 - May 14, 2026: Final Exams
May 9, 2026: Queensbury campus commencement
May 15, 2026: Semester ends
May 16, 2026: Main campus commencement
