Cardinal Points newspaper seeks staff

As you prepare for the semester, think about joining the staff of Cardinal
Point, the college's independent and award-winning student-run news
organization.

Not familiar with Cardinal Points? See our work here:
https://cardinalpointsonline.com/

We are seeking reporters, writers, photographers, copy editors,
proofreaders, editorial cartoonists, illustrators, page designers, graphic
designers, multimedia creators, videographers, website staff and public
relations specialists.

For journalism majors and minors, Cardinal Points may fulfill a
requirement. But all students can get credit for their CP work. All majors
are welcome. You can also join CP as a club for no credit. We meet at 7
p.m. Mondays in Ward Hall, Room 110. Come by our first meeting, Jan. 27, to
check it out.

Published Fridays with some breaking news throughout the week, the mostly
online and occasionally printed weekly newspaper is the No. 1 source of
news and information for students, faculty and area residents about what’s
happening on this campus. The newspaper publishes hard-hitting
investigations, breaking news stories and strong photos.

Our upbeat and edgy Arts & Culture section gives readers the best in art
and entertainment news and reviews and delves into stories that are not
covered anywhere else. And the sports section covers all college athletics,
giving the campus, community, and alumni the best coverage of our teams.

Working on a college newspaper, in any capacity, is an opportunity to gain
experience, build clips or a portfolio and add to your resume. Not to
mention, it is also a great way to make connections and learn more about
the college and surrounding community.

Non-journalism students will need an override to register -- JOU402B, CRN
2781 -- which we are happy to provide. For more information or help
enrolling, please email adviser Jack Downs, jdown001 at plattsburgh.edu.
