*Climate Adaptation as a Human Endeavor: Labor, Discourse, and Critical
Feminist Framing*

Current trends in the study of climate change adaptation define it as a
process of change in response to new conditions. When it comes to climate
change, such adaptations typically arise from recognizing the threats and
risks associated with ecosystem change, extreme weather events, unequal
distribution of climate impacts, and the risks associated with large-scale
events. Often missing from these understandings of climate change
adaptation is the amount of human labor required for adaptation and
climate-related hazard work. This talk will look at climate change as a
human endeavor, focusing on emerging labor patterns and their implications
on discourse and initiatives for just transitions.

*Friday Feb 14th** 3:30**pm. *
