Get Ready: Emergency Preparedness & Fire Safety Month & Big Event Sept. 20!

Hi Cardinals,

September is National Emergency Preparedness and Campus Fire Safety
Month—and we’re making it easy (and fun) to get involved! Every September,
people across the country are encouraged to take small but important steps
to be ready for emergencies and improve fire safety at home, at school, and
in the community.

At SUNY Plattsburgh, the Office of Emergency Management will be sharing
tips, tools, and info all month long to help you:

   - *Be informed* – Know what emergencies could impact you, how to get
   alerts, and where you’d go if you had to evacuate.
   - *Plan ahead* – Create an action plan and build your own emergency kit.
   - *Take action* – Learn what to do, get hands-on training, and connect
   with the people who keep our campus safe.

   - Navigate a Smoke-Filled Corridor
   - Aerial Rescue Demo from the Kehoe building
   - Mock Dorm Room Fire (see how fast fire can spread)
   - Tabling with emergency responders and agencies
   - Food cart on site
   - And more...
