Empire State Service Corps: Earn Money Doing Public Service
Join the Empire State Service Corps for 2025-26. If selected, you will
complete 300 hours of public service during the academic year
(approximately 10 hours per week) and will be paid $16/hour.
Sites that are still available are:

*City of Plattsburgh Climate Task Force* - Assist with developing a
city-wide Climate Action plan, reviewing Urban Forestry plan or
assisting to develop relevant policy. The ideal candidate will have a
passion for climate action and be able to be self-guided through research
and project development.

Plattsburgh Public Library: Assist with various tasks, events and
activities in the library, including Children's Story Time.

St. Joseph's Community Outreach Center: Assist with Food Pantry, Soup
Kitchen, Veterans Feeding Veterans and other programs. Assist families with
learning to maximize use of SNAP benefits. The ideal candidate will have
their own transportation.

*SUNY Plattsburgh Center for Ethics in Public Life* - Civic engagement and
discourse promotion on campus to include voter registration outreach,
developing a student voting coalition and promoting civic discourse on
campus by completing projects like helping to set up a discussion series.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to contribute to the development
of programs and work effectively on research and outreach with minimal
guidance.

*United Way of the Adirondack Region* - Assista with issues surrounding
food insecurity, house, etc., but referrals to agencies that can assist.
Ensure that database is up to date. The ideal candidate will be good with
managing data and will have their own transportation.
