Campus Community,

Would you be ready in the aftermath of an emergency? Emergency responders
may not be able to reach you immediately, so having a well-prepared
emergency supplies kit can be a game-changer. Think of it as your survival
toolkit, packed with the essentials to keep you and your loved ones safe
and secure for at least 72 hours.

What's in a basic emergency kit?

Here’s a list of must-haves:

   -

Water: One gallon per person per day, for at least three days—for
   drinking and sanitation.
   -

Food: Non-perishable items for at least three days. Stock up on
   easy-to-store, easy-to-eat foods.
   -

Battery-powered or hand-crank radio, plus a NOAA Weather Radio with tone
   alert and extra batteries.
   -

Flashlight & extra batteries: Power outages can happen—stay prepared.
   -

First aid kit: For any unexpected injuries or medical needs.
   -

Whistle: Use it to signal for help if needed.
   -

Dust masks: To help filter contaminated air.
   -

Plastic sheeting and duct tape: For sheltering in place.
   -

Sanitation supplies: Moist towelettes, garbage bags, and plastic ties
   for hygiene.
   -

Tools: Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities.
   -

Can opener: Make sure it’s manual—perfect for your canned goods.
   -

Local maps: In case GPS isn’t an option.
   -

Cell phone & charger: Include portable power banks for when electricity
   is down.
   -

Prescription medications & glasses: Don’t forget your daily essentials.
   -

Cash: Keep some on hand, as ATMs and card readers might be unavailable.

Be prepared. Stay safe.
