Student Needed for Roleplaying

Dear Cardinals,

Would you like to get involved and make a real impact in our community?
University Police, in coordination with local emergency responders and UVM
Health Network at CVPH, will be conducting a realistic
full-scale active shooter exercise on *Thursday, May 23rd*, at the Field
House. To support this exercise's realism, we seek volunteers to step into
crucial roles as actors. You must be available from 8 am until noon on that
day.

As an actor, you may be utilized as a bystander, witness, or victim.
Bystander responsibilities include sheltering in place and being evacuated
by police. Witnesses may be provided details to share with responding
officers. Actors simulating injured victims will be made up with realistic
mock injuries and may be treated and transported in an ambulance by fire
and EMS responders.

Actors will be exposed to:
• Loud noises (to include simulated gunfire, shouting, banging)
• Simulated smoke
• Aromas of gunpowder

This exercise is a critical opportunity for us to enhance preparedness,
response, and resilience to a crisis. By participating, you'll not only
gain valuable insights and experience but also contribute directly to the
safety and security of our community.
