*The Information Literacy Competency Exam is offered as an alternative way
to meet the LIB190 course requirement.*Read full details about the exam here

The exam will be available online in Brightspace *Mon. April 8 through Fri.
April 26, 2024*.
- Sign up to take the exam by going to the Exam Sign Up Form
<https://forms.gle/JZM2AFdwDnvrtWxo8> during the listed exam
availability dates.
We will then enroll you in the Brightspace exam site (within 24 hours,
not counting weekends) and you may take the exam.
In Brightspace look for “Information Literacy Competency Exam 2023-2024”
- The exam has 47 questions, and you have one hour to complete it
(unless you are eligible for extended time. See information below).
*Eligibility to Meet the Requirement*
- By passing the exam, you meet the Information Literacy General
Education/Cardinal Core requirement, but do not receive the credit hour.
- Students can take the exam only once in any academic year (July –
June).
*Extended Time Testing*
If you are eligible for extended time, indicate that when you fill out the
exam sign up form.
The Accessibility Resources Office (ARO) will confirm your eligibility and
the amount of extra time you are eligible for. You will then receive a
confirmation email that your exam time has been adjusted and you can then
start the exam.
