*$1500 Scholarship Opportunity for 4 students!*
The Douglas Skopp Social Justice Scholarship was created to honor the late
Dr. Douglas Richard Skopp. Dr. Douglas Skopp joined the History Department
here at SUNY Plattsburgh in the fall of 1972.
This scholarship seeks to identify and recognize a student that
demonstrates:
1. Leadership skills in inclusion, equity and social justice
2. A deep passion for social justice and who provides leadership within
the campus community
3. Increasing awareness of bias, eradicating hate speech and promoting
civility, respect, justice, and equality for all
4. Student leaders who have overcome personal challenges during the
pursuit of their college degree
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, the student must:
1) Be enrolled full-time (12 credits or more)
2) Be in their first, second, or third year
3) Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
4) Complete all steps including *submitting Resume*

Opportunities”. *ALL STEPS* must be completed in order to be considered so
please go through them carefully. Applications are due by April 10, 2023.
Four awards in the amount of $1500 each will be awarded to the students who
demonstrate each of the four criteria above and will be applied to the
spring 2023 semester. It can also be applied to the fall 2022 semester upon
request of the student to the Student Financial Services office.
Sponsored by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the
Plattsburgh College Foundation.
