"International Women's Day 2023 campaign theme: #EmbraceEquity . Equity
isn't just a nice-to-have, it's a must-have. A focus on gender equity needs
to be part of every society's DNA. And it's critical to understand the
difference between equity and equality. The aim of the IWD 2023
#EmbraceEquity campaign theme is to get the world talking about Why equal
opportunities aren't enough. People start from different places, so true
inclusion and belonging require equitable action."

The SUNY Plattsburgh Community is invited to show our support for women,
equality and equity in the Angel College Center from 10 am to 4pm. The
campus DEI office and the Women in Technology interest group will be
providing a social media backdrop, posters for social media posts, and
individual and group photo opportunities for you to show your support.
Look for this photo opportunity near the Department of Gender and Women's
Studies speaker in honor of International Women's Day, (Maria Holderman,
journalist and author of Children of the Decree: A Journalist's Battle to
Save Romanian Orphans and Herself) 11:00-11:50, in the ACC Alumni Room.
