The first Institute for Ethics in Public Life colloquy for Spring 2022
will be held on Wednesday, 2/22, at noon over Zoom.

"College Behind Bars"

Justin McDevitt has been teaching college at prisons in Indiana for six
years and now directs a program that offers A.A. and B.A. degree programs
to incarcerated students. He’ll be reflecting on the importance of these
programs and what he’s learned about the potential for and challenges of
higher education programs in prison.

Justin McDevitt is director of the Women’s College Partnership at Indiana
Women’s Prison, a member of Notre Dame Programs for Education in Prison. He
also teaches an online section of U.S. National Politics at Plattsburgh.

Justin is also co-editor of an upcoming book on higher education in
prisons, the online preview discussion of which will be held on Wednesday,
3/8, starting at 12:30. More to come on this.
