The James Augustus Wilson Scholarship was created to honor James Augustus
Wilson, class of 1902. Mr. Wilson was the first African-American student to
enroll and graduate from Plattsburgh Normal School, the first incarnation
of what we now know as SUNY Plattsburgh. The James Augustus Wilson
Scholarship recognizes and supports Black/African American students,
enrolled full-time at SUNY Plattsburgh, for their academic achievement and
leadership.
Nominations for the James Augustus Wilson Scholarship will be accepted
until November 22, 2022. Students may self-nominate for the scholarship or
they may be nominated by members of the college's faculty and staff. Campus
login credentials are required to access the nomination forms.

*Due Date: *November 22, 2022
*Amount: *It is anticipated that at least two nominees will be awarded a
scholarship, each with a value that is expected to range from $500 to
$2,500.
*Notification: *Announcement of the James Augustus Wilson Scholars is
scheduled for December.
