In celebration of Black History Month, the Africana Studies faculty will be
hosting a film viewing and discussion of the movie, *Judas and the Black
Messiah* (2021). The film, starring Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield
and directed by Shaka King, tells the true story of Fred Hampton, the
leader of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party during the late
1960s.
We hope you will join us for the film and discussion afterwards. Please
watch for an announcement about our second film and discussion event on
Tuesday, February 22.
If you have further questions about either event, please contact Dr. Liz
Onasch (director of the Africana Studies minor), Dr. John McMahon, or Dr.
Tracie Guzzio.
