*About Shine On! Advanced Practicum (PRE497):*

Are you looking for hands-on experiential learning? Are you passionate
about making an impact on the greater Plattsburgh community? If so, *PRE497
- Shine On! Advanced Practicum *in Spring 2022 might be for you.

Shine On! is a SUNY Plattsburgh organization dedicated to fostering
resiliency in 3rd-5th grade girls through teaching three themes: character
strengths, communication skills, and media literacy. The Shine On!
committee (members of the PRE497 class) is the event planning force behind
the spring Shine On! conference, our main event for local girls. This year,
our conference is called *Mighty Girls Move Mountains,* and it will be hosted
at Camp Pok-O-MacCready!

Members of PRE497 complete a range of tasks in preparation for the
conference including but not limited to:

   - Grant writing and sponsorship coordination
   - Workshop planning and execution
   - Coordination of event logistics (food, nurses, security, COVID
   protocol, registration etc.)
   - Media outreach (media kit creation, writing press releases, etc.)
   - Social media/website management and content creation

Students will also work the full overnight conference down at Camp
Pok-O-MacCready and gain real-time event management experience.
