9th Annual Colloquium on Quebec Studies: Quebec Past & Present

Our SUNY Plattsburgh Institute on Quebec Studies invites you to attend the
Virtual "9th Annual Colloquium on Quebec Studies: Quebec Past & Present" on
March 12-13, 2021.

This event, co-organized by the Institute on Québec Studies, SUNY
Plattsburgh and the Eastern Townships Resource Centre, Bishop’s University
will be convened virtually, Friday, March 12 from 8:45 am to 4:15 pm and
Saturday, March 13 from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.  The program includes more than
35 presenters on eight panels titled:

1.         Introductory Remarks & Welcome to Abenaki Territory

2.         Nationalism and Everyday Nationhood

3.         English-Speaking Quebecers

4.         Quebec’s Diversity

5.         Literary Soulmates

6.         Quebec History

7.         Strange Bedfellows-politics and literary expressions

8.         Poster Presentation by Quebec Society Students



SUNY Plattsburgh presenters are: Robert Ackland (faculty emeriti),
Christopher Kirkey (Director, Center for the Study of Canada & Institute on
Québec Studies), Jonathan Slater (director, Institute for Ethics in Public
Life, and professor/chair, Journalism and Public Relations), Yong Yu
(associate professor/chair, Teacher Education, Grad M.S. Education
Program), William Culver (faculty emeriti), and Marlee Bickford-Bushey
(undergraduate student, Individualized Studies Major with Canadian studies
minor).
