Hello Fellow Cardinals,

I hope this finds all of you well and healthy, and you’ve had a good start
to the semester !

The Student Association would like to wish you the best for this semester
and looks forward to engaging with you in this different but hopeful
semester.

I am writing to let you know what your Student Association has done to help
you during these difficult times. The Student Association has reduced its
mandatory SA fee for this semester from $105 to $55, considering the
difficult circumstances many of us find ourselves in.

The Student Association recognizes how tough these past months have been -
mentally, emotionally, and financially. Your Student Association stands
ready to help and support you in whatever way we can, as all of us are in
this together. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the full Cardinal
experience, and are working to reduce persisting financial barriers to the
best of our ability. We look forward to advancing the voice of our student
community and prioritizing what’s best for the community.

The Student Association will continue to provide its services for this
semester as well, with over 80 clubs and organizations, different events,
and the Student Shuttle, all operating for your benefit. We encourage you
to be involved with clubs and organizations on-campus, whether in-person or
virtually, to connect and make better for the Cardinal community.

OTHER UPDATES:

LAST SEMESTER: Following other colleges, as well as an effort to
increase involvement incentives
and compensate student leaders for their time and commitment, elected SA
positions *are now **paid. *

During last semester's Student Senate meeting, the Senate unanimously
passed *Student Bill #16 : **Creation of Compensation Model for Student
Association Officials* (attached). According to this document - "The amount
will be determined through the annual Student Association Budget process".

If you would like to see the model or have any questions, please feel free
to email President Ahmed at rahme003 at plattsburgh.edu.

SA events. *
