Auditions for 5-Minute Directing Class Scenes

The SUNY Plattsburgh Directing the Play Class is holding auditions on
February 16 & 17, 2021, and is looking to cast and collaborate with
students who come from and reflect a diverse range of experiences,
backgrounds, and identities.

Who: You

What: Auditions for 5-minute scenes from Naomi Iizuka’s play Anon(ymous)

Separated from his mother, a young refugee called Anon journeys through the
United States, encountering a wide variety of people -- some kind, some
dangerous and cruel -- as he searches for his family. From a sinister
one-eyed butcher to beguiling barflies to a sweatshop, Anon must navigate
through a chaotic, ever-changing landscape in this entrancing adaptation of
Homer's Odyssey.

What do I have to do for auditions?

   1.

   Be prepared to read excerpts from the script
   2.

   Fill out our painless audition form [https://forms.gle/9RMWbd6DZEyxnEcx6
   ].
   1.

      Have your contact info (email, phone number)
      2.

      Have your schedule handy (work, class, etc.) Since we are on zoom, we
      have the willingness and ability to be flexible and work with your
      schedules (except for the performance date).


Do I need to have acting or theatre experience?

NOPE.

We’re interested in seeing how you work/your work.

How long will auditioning take?

Around 5-10 minutes

Will I have time to prepare/read the audition piece over before I audition?

YES.

Breakout rooms. They’re not just for naps anymore.

How many scenes will there be?

SIX scenes.

Where: Zoom [fill out your audition form to get the zoom link - it’s easy]

When:

Auditions: February 16 @ 7pm OR February 17 @ 2pm

Performance: March 17 @ 2pm
