Summer and Fall 2021 Registration Information

Good Day,

As we prepare for Summer and Fall registration, here are some important
dates and other information to make sure you are prepared.

Registration holds must be cleared to access Summer 2021 and Fall 2021
course registration.

   -

   Log into the portal (my.plattsburgh.edu)
   -

   Click on the Student Services tab
   -

   Click on the My Holds link under the Registrar header
   -

   If holds exist, please contact the appropriate office.

Code of conduct (CC) holds:  Navigate to your MyPlattsburgh Announcements
and click on the Student Codes of Conduct Hold link. Read and acknowledge
when finished.

Immunization/meningitis (IM/MN) holds: Student Health Center
healthcenter at plattsburgh.edu (518-564-2187)

Financial (AR) holds:  Student Accounts (myaccount at plattsburgh.edu or
finaid at plattsburgh.edu)

Telecommunication (TE) holds:  Telecommunication Office (518-564-7975)

Library (LI) holds:  Library (518-564-5182); Interlibrary Loans
(518-564-5301)

Registrar (RH) holds:  Registrar’s Office (registrar at plattsburgh.edu)

Local address (LO) holds:  require students to enter their local addresses
directly into Banner by accessing the Personal Menu, updating local address
(use drop-down arrow), and by submitting changes; the hold will lift
automatically.

Obtain registration PIN from your academic advisor.

Currently Enrolled, Matriculated Students in Online Programs:  April 12,
2021 (8 a.m.) – September 5, 2021 (11:30 p.m.); registration PIN required.

Currently Enrolled, Matriculated Students Studying Abroad Spring 2021:  April
12, 2021 (8 a.m.) – September 5, 2021 (11:30 p.m.); registration PIN

Currently Enrolled, Matriculated Main Campus Students:  Priority
registration is April 19, 2021 (8:00 a.m.) – May 2, 2021 (11:30 p.m.);
registration PIN required.  Obtain registration PIN from your academic
advisor. Course adjustment is May 3, 2021 (10:00 a.m.) – June 13, 2021
(11:30 p.m.) and July 26, 2021 (10:00 a.m.) - September 5, 2021 (11:30
p.m.); no registration PIN required.

Fall 2021 Readmit Main & Queensbury Campus Students:   April 12, 2021 (8:00
a.m.) – September 5, 2021 (11:30 p.m.); registration PIN not required.

Fall 2021 New Transfer Main & Queensbury Campus Students: June 18, 2021
(10:00 a.m.) – September 5, 2021 (11:30 p.m.); registration PIN required.
Obtain PIN from your department chairperson starting May 21, 2021.

Fall 2021 New First-Year Main Campus: Registration session the morning of
August 29, 2021; registration PIN not required.

Non-Matriculated Main & Queensbury Campus Undergraduate Students: August 9,
2021 (10:00 a.m.) - September 5, 2021 (11:30 p.m.); registration PIN not
required.

All Matriculated Graduate and Undergraduate Students: may register for
summer courses April 12, 2021 (10:00 a.m.) through the first day of class.

All Non-Matriculated Graduate and Undergraduate Students: April 19, 2021
(10:00 a.m.) through the first day of class.

BANNER WEB REGISTRATION ACCESS

   1.

   Access Banner Web from Plattsburgh’s homepage at www.plattsburgh.edu
   2.

   Click on the MyPlattsburgh <https://www.plattsburgh.edu/portal/> link.
   3.

   Login with your NetID and Password. Questions about using your SUNY
   Plattsburgh NetID and Password

   4.

   Click on Student Services menu tab.
   5.

   Under Registrar, click on Lookup Courses to Add.
   6.

   Select Term (Summer 2021 or Fall 2021).
   7.

   Click Advanced Search.
   8.

   Select course subject or other search criteria and press the Class
   Search button.
   9.

   Check the box next to the desired course(s), scroll to the end of the
   page, and submit changes.
   10.

   Help is available by e-mailing the Registrar's Office at
   registrar at plattsburgh.edu, or by telephone at 518-564-2100.

 REGISTRATION ERROR MESSAGES

Approval Required:  Registration restricted until student obtains
permission to register from the respective department chairperson or
coordinator of special program.

Campus Restriction:  Only students located at a specific location may
register. Some courses are restricted for matriculated, undergraduate
students attending the SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury campus. These
restricted courses may be offered at the Adirondack Community College or
Hudson Valley Community College sites.

Class Level Restriction:  Only students at a specific class level are
allowed to register. Class levels are freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and
seniors (upper/lower levels) and graduates. The class level restriction is
defined in the prerequisites for each course. Click on the course link on
Banner Web to view course description and prerequisite requirements.

Closed Course:  Course enrollment is at maximum capacity. Students are
encouraged to waitlist on closed courses. Students must obtain the
department chairperson’s approval to add a closed course. If approval is
granted, the department chair enters an approval code in Banner. The
student is responsible for adding the course on the Banner Web Add/Drop
form, enter CRN of course, and submit.

Co-requisite:  If a course has a co-requisite, the courses must be added
simultaneously in Banner to permit registration (e.g., BIO101A lecture and
BIO101LA lab).

Degree Restriction:  Only students in specific degree programs may register.

Level Restriction:  Only students in a specific level (undergraduate or
graduate) are allowed to register. All graduate courses (500 level) have
been coded with a graduate-level registration restriction.

Major Restriction:  Only students in a specific major may register. Most
major restrictions are defined in the prerequisites for courses. If not,
contact the respective academic department should you have questions.

 Prerequisite:  Student has not completed prerequisites for a course. Click
on the course link to view course description and prerequisite
requirements. If the description states "Felony Questionnaire Required" you
can go to https://www.plattsburgh.edu/felony for more information and to
fill out the questionnaire.

Reserved:  Seats reserved for specific group registrations such as Learning
Communities, SSS/EOP/ESL students, incoming students. Students are
encouraged to waitlist on courses with reserved seats.

SR:  Need assigned time ticket to register.  Contact Registrar’s Office.

Time Conflict:  Two or more courses are scheduled to meet during the same
time.

ADDITIONAL Fall 2021 DATES & DEADLINES

1.     Late Registration Fee ($40):  Applies to students who enroll on May
3, 2021 and thereafter if not registered by May 2, 2021.

2.     Wait Lists Cleared:  June 14, 2021 (8:00 a.m.)

3.     Classes Begin: August 30, 2021

4.     Credit Hour Overload Approval Deadline:  September 3, 2021

5.  Deadline for Independent Study, Research practicum, Internship
Registrations:  September 3, 2021

6.     Course Add Drop Ends:  September 5, 2021 (11:30 p.m.)

7.     Course Withdrawal Fee Applied ($20):  September 6, 2021 and
thereafter

8.    Last Day for Unrestricted Course Withdrawal (Full-Semester Courses):
November 5, 2021
