Conversations on Canada - Brand New Center for the Study of Canada Initiative

Greetings:

The Center for the Study of Canada and Institute on Quebec Studies at SUNY
Plattsburgh is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative for the
2020-21 academic year titled, "Conversations on Canada". This initiative
consists of monthly presentations on current issues central to a fuller
understanding of Canadian society. Each conversation will take place via
Zoom. Registration details for each session, along with a brief abstract
and short bio for each presenter, will be emailed to you as we move closer
to the date of each presentation.

Highlights of the fall presentations are included below. Please mark your
calendars:

Date:           Thursday, November 12, 2020
Time:           3:30-4:30 p.m.
Speaker:     Dr. Debra Thompson, Associate Professor/Political Science,
McGill University
Title:            "The Black Experience in Canada: Race, the State, and The
Persistence of
                     Social Inequality"
