SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury students, please see details below on
commencement festivities happening this May that December '24, January '25
and May '25 graduates are invited to attend.

Commencement Ceremony

SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury partners with SUNY Adirondack in a joint
commencement ceremony each May. Since our semester start and end times do
not always align, this year's spring ceremony will take place just prior to
our finals week on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at Cool Insuring Arena
.

Registration Required

As Cool Insuring Arena has ample space, there is no limit to the number of
guests you may bring. Registration is required to walk in the ceremony but

Main Campus Commencement

Students who prefer to attend commencement at the main campus in
Plattsburgh instead, which will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, can learn

Regalia

Starting early April, undergraduate regalia can be purchased directly at
SUNY Adirondack’s bookstore for $53.50 + tax. Students who already have a
gown may purchase just a cap ($11) and/or red tassel ($9).

Undergraduate regalia can also be purchased online through SUNY
Plattsburgh’s bookstore <https://www.bkstr.com/sunyplattsburghstore/home>for
approximately $55, which includes shipping.

Masters robes and hoods can be ordered online through SUNY Plattsburgh’s
bookstore <https://www.bkstr.com/sunyplattsburghstore/home> for
approximately $97, which includes shipping.

Senior Send-Off & Finals Refresh

Monday May 5 and Wednesday May 7 all students are invited to stop by our
office for finals refreshments, sponsored by the Office of Diversity,
Equity, & Inclusion

pick up their senior gift, and new this year, graduating students can also
receive lavender or multicultural cords or a multicultural stole, at no
cost.

Cap Decorating Contest

The Plattsburgh Activities Committee will once again sponsor a cap
decorating contest with free supplies available April 28 - May 9 in the PAC
Oasis (Bryan Hall 120).

To enter the contest, email a photo of your decorated cap to
branchcampus at plattsburgh.edu. Photos will be posted to social media for a
vote; the winner will receive a diploma frame valued at $180.

Graduating with Honors

Commencement honors for undergraduate students are estimated based on last
semester's cumulative GPA. Actual honors are calculated after commencement.
Students with a GPA of 3.4 or higher and a minimum of 45 credits graded A-E are
eligible to graduate with honors.  Students who qualify will also receive
information regarding how to apply to be our SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury
commencement speaker.

Graduation Application

We make every effort to ensure that all Plattsburgh at Queensbury graduate
names are listed in SUNY Adirondack’s commencement program. The list used
is generated submission of a graduation application, which were due last
November. Students who anticipate graduating this May who have not yet
applied to graduate, should do so immediately. Instructions can be found

December & January Graduates

December 2024 and January 2025 graduates are welcome to walk in our joint
spring commencement ceremony. Please register to attend by clicking the
