[Important Information for Queensbury Campus Students] BRANCH CAMPUS: Commencement Saturday 5/14 - FINAL DETAILS

Good morning,

Spring is in the air and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate the many
accomplishments of our graduating students this coming Saturday, May 14. Here
are some final details for your review:

*COMMENCEMENT RECEPTION*


Thank you for all that RSVPed to attend the pre-commencement reception at
the Charles Wood Theater at 8:00 a.m. prior to commencement. Registration
is closed for this event – should you still want to sign up, email Emma at
branchcampus at plattsburgh.edu to see if this is still possible. Students
will have the chance to take photos and mingle with faculty, breakfast
sandwiches will be served, and certificates of achievements presented.



*COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY*


*Date: *Saturday May 11, 2019, 11:00 a.m. *  Location: *Cool Insuring Arena
(Glens Falls Civic Center)



A few handicap accessible parking spaces are available directly in front of
Cool Insuring Arena. Otherwise, families and guests can be dropped off and
picked up. Parking is also allowed in St. Mary’s Church lot.




*ARRIVAL & CHECK-IN*


Graduating students should use the entrance on Glen Street and report to
the registration table located in Heritage Hall* no later than 10:15 a.m.*
There you will be directed on how to line up and receive your line-up/name
card, which you will need to keep and hand to the person announcing names
during the ceremony.




*PROCESSION & CEREMONY PROCEDURES*


Casual group photos will be taken in Heritage Hall prior to lining up for
the ceremony. At 10:30 a.m., graduates will line up and enter the arena
precisely at 11:00 a.m.  Please follow the instructions of the faculty and
staff who are responsible for the procession. Graduate students will line
up first with their hoods on, followed by undergraduate students.



Participation in graduation is voluntary. However, if you plan to attend,
it is expected that you will return to your seats after walking and remain
for the duration of the ceremony so as not to interrupt the proceedings. We
will respect our SUNY Adirondack partner and the other students celebrating
their success.



During the Ceremony:


   - Faculty Marshals will lead students to stage. Student will give
   line-up/name cards to the Marshall just prior to the stage. Emma
   Bartscherer will be reading names so you will see her at this point!
   - When Emma calls your name advance to the President at the lectern.
   - When you reach the President, you will receive your diploma cover,
   walk across the stage, then return to your seat.



*Diplomas are mailed approximately 6 weeks following the end of the
semester to the mailing address you have on file. If this address needs to
be changed, contact the Registrar’s Office. *


Regalia should have been picked up already at SUNY Adirondack's bookstore.
They may have extra on hand if needed - please check in with them. If for
