Reminder: Strategic Planning Listening Session #2 Today at 3:30 p.m.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our first strategic planning
listening session on April 9. Your thoughtful input, honesty, and
engagement helped surface a number of important themes that will continue
to inform the next phase of institutional planning at SUNY Plattsburgh.


As a reminder, the second and final listening session will take place:

The first session reinforced many of the strengths that continue to define
SUNY Plattsburgh, including:



   - Strong regional partnerships with organizations such as Clinton
   Community College, SUNY Adirondack, K–12 schools, healthcare systems, and
   community agencies
   - Hands-on learning opportunities, internships, and faculty mentorship
   - A welcoming and inclusive campus culture
   - Our unique Adirondack location and student experience
   - The dedication and impact of faculty and staff, even amid limited
   resources


Participants also identified several areas where continued focus and growth
will be important, including:



   - Strengthening communication and collaboration across campus
   - Supporting online and non-traditional learners more effectively
   - Adapting teaching and assessment approaches in an increasingly
   AI-driven environment
   - Expanding workforce-aligned academic programs and partnerships
   - Enhancing storytelling, visibility, and community engagement


As we move into the second session, we hope to continue building on these
themes while also identifying additional ideas, perspectives, and
future-focused opportunities that may not yet have surfaced. The goal is
not necessarily to revisit every challenge already identified, but to
deepen the conversation and broaden our collective thinking about where
SUNY Plattsburgh should go next.
