To all faculty and professional staff:
Please consider volunteering to serve on one of the SUNY University Faculty
Senate Standing Committees listed below for the 2026-27 academic year. You
do not need to be involved in our local faculty senate to serve on these
committees. Committee members are expected to attend one in-person meeting
in September, but the rest of the work is typically done virtually. The
cost of attending the meeting is paid by SUNY.

Subject: [External] [SUNYUFS-GOV] Standing Committee Registration
Application is NOW Open (April 24-June5)
Good Morning All –
The annual standing committee form is now open and will remain open until JUNE
5th at 5pm. Please send this email far and wide within SUNY. We are
looking for people to serve on all of our UFS committees. Below are some
important details to remember when applying for a committee. Please read
this email in its entirety before applying.
1. Anyone within SUNY may apply for a committee. If you are
already on a committee and wish to stay on that committee – YOU STILL NEED
TO APPLY, but you do not need to provide an updated CV. Committee terms are
one year, renewable for up to three years. After you have served for three
years on a committee you must cycle off that committee. YOU MAY APPLY FOR
A NEW COMMITTEE, and we hope that you do! If you are applying for a new
committee, you MUST provide a CV.
2. If you are looking to switch committees, if you are new to
committee work, or if you are returning after a break from committee work,
you will fill out the form for new committee selections. You MUST provide
an abridged (2 page) CV if you are moving committees or if you are a new
applicant. Applications for a new committee without a PDF 2-page CV will
be discarded.
3. The closing date and time is June 5th at 5pm. If you miss
this deadline, you have missed the deadline. I will not be opening
the form again. There is a lot of work that needs to go into organizing
the 100+ applications that we get each year, so I need the time to do this
work before the EC meets in mid-June.
4. The executive committee will meet and review ALL valid
applications to select their committee for the upcoming year. Again, your
application will be discarded if the CV instructions are not followed. I
will notify EVERY APPLICANT with the EC’s decision on July 1st via email.
5. To register, you will:

form. If you complete the form in one visit and hit the "I am ready to
submit my form" button, you will receive a confirmation email. SAVE THIS
EMAIL for confirmation of submission.
2. If you started the form and need more time to finish it, you will
hit the "Please save this, I will return later" button. You will be
prompted to enter your email and create a password to create a
new log in.
If you already have a log in from a previous year FORGET THAT ONE. You
need to create a new log in each year. The password must be at least 8
letters/numbers and at least one special character. REMEMBER THIS LOG
IN!!! You will be able to go back to change your selections, add a
cv, and edit your application etc. Until it closes on June 5th at 5pm.
3. When you want to go back into the form to complete your
registration, you will use this link.

4. When you are in the registration page, you will be able to review
all the committee charges to help you make a decision on a new committee.
