Proposals for 2027-28 Graduate Student Positions

The Graduate Admissions Office invites SUNY Plattsburgh faculty and staff
to submit proposals for three different types of 2027-28 graduate student
positions.  These positions include Graduate Assistantships and two other
fellowship opportunities. If you were approved to supervise a graduate
student in one of these roles in 26-27 and wish to continue that position
in 27-28, you must submit a new proposal in this cycle.

The 2027-28 Proposal Application will close on May 8, 2026.

These on-campus work experiences are an excellent way to help recruit and
retain graduate students while enriching the quality of their education.
All proposals will be reviewed/approved by the provost's cabinet based upon
the following criteria: relationship to a graduate program of study;
educational value of the position; and potential recruitment/retention
benefit.

What positions are possible?

We are accepting proposals for the following professional position types
from now until May 8, 2026. Each of these position types vary, so you are
encouraged to familiarize yourself with the options before deciding which
position type(s) best suit your proposal. Please note that a single
proposal form will not be applied to more than one position, or to
different position types.  We must receive one proposal for each position
you propose, which may require you to duplicate your submissions.

When will I know if the proposal is approved?

You can expect to receive a decision regarding your 2027-28 proposals by
mid July, 2026. We look forward to receiving your proposals!
