National Hazing Prevention Week is 9/22-26

A national study recently reported that *84% of participants in a hazing
prevention online course indicated they would not join an organization if
they knew it engaged in hazing*. Supporting campus hazing prevention
efforts is an excellent way for you and your organization to demonstrate
that you find hazing unacceptable and are working to learn more about
creating positive new member experiences. Join IFC and ISA next week for
the following NHPW events:

*Candlelight Vigil for Victims of Violence on Monday, September 22 at 7
p.m. - ACC Amite Plaza.* This vigil to remember victims of violent crimes,
including hazing, is held every year in memory of Walter Dean Jennings III,
a student who died from hazing at SUNY Plattsburgh in 2003.

*Hazing Prevention: It's for You, Too on Tuesday, September 23 at 6 p.m. -
ACC Ballrooms. *Join SUNY Plattsburgh alum and hazing researcher Dr. Emily

the program motivated to be engaged bystanders by monitoring impaired peers
for signs of overdose, never leaving anyone alone to sleep it off, and
intervening when they are concerned about hazing.
