November Holiday and Liberal Leave Reminder

A reminder regarding the holidays in November for classified and
professional employees.  This information does not apply to 10-month
academic employees.

Election Day (Tuesday, November 4, 2025) is a floating holiday, so offices
remain open, and employees required to work receive compensatory time off.

Veterans’ Day (Tuesday, November 11, 2025) is a legal holiday, and most
SUNY Plattsburgh offices will be closed. Offices required to be open for
operational purposes should coordinate with the respective Vice President's
office - classes are in session.

Wednesday, November 26, 2025 and Friday, November 28, 2025 - the day before
and after the Thanksgiving Holiday on November 27, 2025 - have been
designated as Liberal Leave days.  There are no classes on these days.  The
university is encouraging colleagues to use annual or other appropriate
leave at this time.  Offices and/or departments with specific work
commitments may be required to carry out normal work schedules on this
day.  Any questions should be directed to your supervisor.

Under the liberal leave policy, staying out of work is voluntary.  If you
choose to work, in most cases, you should be able to work in your normal
workplace.  However, you are encouraged to discuss your plans with your
supervisor as soon as possible.

UUP Professionals will observe the day after Thanksgiving as a floating
holiday in lieu of the observance of Election Day, in accordance with
Article XIII, Title D of the Policies of the Board of Trustees.  Leave
credits should be charged by UUP Professionals and 12-month faculty who
choose not to work on the liberal leave days listed above.
