Tue Oct 14 14:00:00 UTC 2025

The CEES Seminar Series presents:

*Dr. Tara Stewart Merrill, *Aquatic Disease Ecologist, Cary Institute of
EcosystemStudies

*Cause and consequences of disease in aquatic ecosystems*

Considerable gaps exist in our understanding of the environmental
conditions under which pathogens spread, as well as how parasites – as
naturally occurring enemies – structure species interactions and
ecosystem-level processes. Tara’s research confronts these gaps with
interdisciplinary approaches, connecting theoretical models to laboratory
experiments and observational field studies.

*Friday October 17th** 3:30**pm. *
*Hudson 106*
*Reception prior to the talk at 3:00*
