*Gather & Curate with the Museum! *
Mark your calendar for upcoming opportunities to help select artworks for a
new display of museum objects! Drop-in to *The Fishbowl* (Myers Building
232, Second Floor) any *Tuesday or Thursday from 11:30–1:30 after
Thanksgiving break *to take part in a shared curatorial project. These
participatory events are open to all students, staff, faculty, and
administrators too! They are designed to create more opportunities for our
campus community to learn about, and contribute to, the public presentation
of the museum’s collection. No prior experience necessary, just bring your
curiosity!
*About The Fishbowl:*
This publicly accessible display in the Myers Building also serves as a
teaching classroom for the museum and can be reserved for meetings and
events. During the fall semester, the museum brought more than 150 artworks
out of storage for classes, engaging approximately 550 student visits
across 30 class sessions over the semester.
*What to Expect:*
Each session will focus on one display case, ultimately resulting in *four
collaboratively curated installations* and four opportunities to
participate. A selection of artworks arranged by theme will be brought out
of storage for participants to explore, select from, and install for a
one-year long exhibition.
*I Can’t Attend but I Want to Participate: *
There are many ways to contribute to the museum’s collection and its
visibility! Consider highlighting an artwork from The Fishbowl in *Cardinal
Points*, as students and faculty have done here

here
<https://cardinalpointsonline.com/suny-plattsburgh-collection-spotlight-roberto-lugo/>,
and here

This opportunity invites the community to engage with object records and
institutional history, often uncovering surprising and delightful stories.
