*Join the Latin American Studies Faculty Associates!*
Are you a faculty member with research or teaching interests related to
Latin America, the Caribbean, or Latinx communities? If so, the Latin
American Studies (LAS) Program at SUNY Plattsburgh invites you to
become a *Faculty
Associate*!
The LAS Program is an interdisciplinary and collegial group of faculty from
a variety of departments, including Anthropology, History, Political
Science, Modern Languages, and more. Our program is a key part of the
college's focus on global engagement and multiculturalism, offering both a
major and a minor and supporting student learning through innovative
courses and experiential opportunities like the Model Organization of
American States (Model OAS).
We are also excited to announce that faculty associates who dedicate time
to student recruitment efforts will be eligible for new stipends. This
initiative is designed to support your valuable contributions to our
program's growth and to help us reach prospective students passionate about
Latin America.
*Why Join Us?*
By becoming a Faculty Associate, you can:
- *Connect with colleagues* from across the campus who share your
interests.
- *Share your courses* with a wider audience by cross-listing them with
our program.
- *Contribute to student success* by helping shape the curriculum and
mentorship opportunities for our students.
- *Collaborate on research* and initiatives related to Latin America.
Your expertise is vital to the growth and success of the Latin American
Studies Program. We welcome new perspectives and look forward to learning
how your work can enrich our community.
If you are interested in joining our group, please contact our program
coordinator, Dr. Justin Lowry, at jlowr002 at plattsburgh.edu. We're excited
to hear from you!
