*Stream Restoration in the Adirondacks: Planning, Design, and
Implementation*


As Stream Restoration Manager with the Ausable Freshwater Center (AFC),
Gary oversees all phases of AFC’s restoration work on Adirondack rivers and
streams – from planning and prioritizing projects in a watershed, to
engineering design and construction. Restoration goals vary by project, but
often include improving flood resilience for Adirondack communities,
enhancing habitat for native species, stabilizing streambank erosion, and
reconnecting aquatic habitat in tributary streams. Gary will give an
overview of AFC’s restoration program and provide examples of some recent
work.
