*The Plattsburgh Public Library hosts a monthly speaker series*, *Life Long
Learning for All*, to help bring experts into the local community.
*Presentations
are held the first Wednesday of each month from 5:30 – 6:30 PM in the
Auditorium* (second floor) *of the Plattsburgh Public Library* (19 Oak St).
*The next presentation is on Wednesday, September 3, at 5:30 PM,* *when Dr.
Ray Carman will present an overview of the U.S. Supreme Court's 2024
term.* Here
is the description:
During its 2024 term, the U.S. Supreme Court issued several consequential
decisions in important areas of constitutional law and civil rights
jurisprudence. During this talk, constitutional scholar Dr. Ray Carman will
provide an overview of the Court’s 2024 term, discuss some of its most
consequential cases, highlight a few potential cases the Court may take up
in its 2025 term, and answer your questions.
The flyer is attached. *Please come and help us get the word out, including
to our students!* We would love to continue to have great campus as well as
community turnout!
*October's presentation will be on Wednesday, October 1, at 5:30 PM *when
Dr. Vincent Carey will present on Halloween traditions in Ireland.
