The CEES Seminar Series presents:

*Samantha Beck, *MS student Natural Resources and Ecology, SUNY Plattsburgh

*Thesis Defense: Beyond the binary: Gender identity and the pursuit of
environmental career trajectories *

Despite ongoing calls to address inequities, women and gender-diverse (WGD)
individuals remain disproportionately excluded from the environmental
workforce. Our research explores how identity, connectedness to nature,
environmental stewardship, and career aspirations intersect. By analyzing
survey data and conducting participant interviews, we identify and address
barriers within the field, fostering a workforce in the natural sciences
that is more diverse, resilient, and adaptable.
