The Plattsburgh State Gospel Choir, which is led by Dr. Dexter L. Criss is
delighted to present "GospelFEST 2025" - The SUNY Plattsburgh Gospel
Choir's unique sound is a harmonic fusion of traditional gospel, urban
gospel, and contemporary Christian music, all blended heavily with
Caribbean and Afrocentric rhythms and spiritual overtones.
Some of the selections to be presented this year are "Holy Water" by Tasha
Cobbs, energetic rendition of Kurt Carr's "Great God Great Praise", Rollo
Dilworth's spiritual arrangement of "Walk in Jerusalem", Trey McLaughlin
cover of, "I Shall Wear a Crown", and Reed's Temple foot stomping mega hit
"I am Blessed".  A timely selection, "Something Inside So Strong" written
by Sifree in his response to Apartheid, is beautifully choreographed by
Andrea. D. Ogle.
This concert will feature talented student soloists such as Jerrique Ortiz,
Charlotte Feliz and Keely Huling. But not to be left out, our community
members, Barbara Jackson, Barbara Criss, Brett Carpenter, Angelica Sanchez,
Van Dora Williams and Gina Lindsey and others will all deliver a
brilliant-soulful performance on their respective solos, duets and
ensembles! Don’t miss out! This loaded 2-hour concert will also feature the
choir’s Praise Dancers lead by Keely Huling.
