George earned a B.S. in Natural Resources focused in fisheries management
from the University of Connecticut, a Master’s degree in Natural Sciences
from SUNY Plattsburgh, and a PhD from the University of Maine, where he
studied diadromous fish behavior and movement near hydroelectric dams.
Before joining the Northeast Fisheries Science Center George worked with
commercial fishermen in New England on topics ranging from halibut
reproduction to reducing seal interactions with fishing gear, as well as
working as a professor and freelance data analyst. Come learn all about
George’s exciting career!
