Tuesday Talks presents Tonya Cribb, Director of the Plattsburgh State Art
Museum, and Kara Jefts, Museum Collections Manager, speaking on "Museum
Collections and Public Display" tomorrow, April 8, 2025 at 5pm in the
Angell College Center's Cardinal Lounge. Below is an abstract of their
presentation.

Almost every campus museum manages artwork beyond gallery spaces: in
buildings, offices, classrooms, and sometimes even dorm rooms. Managing a
collection is always challenging, but a collection that is spread across
multiple buildings in unmonitored spaces is a herculean task not just for
museum staff, but for many departments across a college campus. Making art
accessible to campus communities can garner institutional pride, but
enthusiasm for such programs directly relates to how well the work is cared
for and presented. Learn more about how museum staff here at SUNY
Plattsburgh are working toward mission-centric educational goals while
working to ensure appropriate care and presentation of the art on display
around campus.
