The CEES Seminar Series presents:

*Dr. Jase Bernhardt, *Director of Sustainability Studies Department of
Geology, Environment, and Sustainability Hofstra University


*Weather warning outreach and communication in the 21st century*


Despite rapid improvement in weather forecasting skill, communicating that
information to the public remains a dynamic and vexing challenge. This talk
will cover some different efforts to improve meteorological risk
communication, including the application of virtual reality simulations to
better understand how individuals react to severe weather events. Moreover,
work aiming to improve Spanish language communication of hazardous weather
will also be discussed.
