In accordance with the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of
1989 (Public Law 101-226), SUNY Plattsburgh has adopted and implemented a
program to prevent the illicit use of drugs and abuse of alcohol by
students and employees.

Certification of the program was submitted to the U.S. Department of
Education to preserve our campus’ eligibility to continue receiving Federal
financial assistance. The requirements of the Act include annual
distribution to each employee of our local standards of conduct, legal and
disciplinary sanctions, associated health risks, and locally-available
treatment.

The Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Prevention Policy for our campus can be
found on our website here
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/about/offices-divisions/administration-finance/management-services/campus-handbook/section-iv-employment-benefits/drug-alcohol-free-workplace-policy.html>
.

Additionally, all supervisors are asked to review the information with
their staff and to please share with your employees that may not utilize
email frequently.

Questions concerning this policy may be directed to Human Resource Services
