Notification of Fall Training Compliance Course Assignments


All employees are required to participate and complete training assignments
for compliance with external mandates. The fall series of compliance
training has been scheduled. Resources on how to access the assignments are
included below.


New Mandatory Training for Title VI - (37 minutes) - Due 9/30/24

Every faculty and staff member at System Administration and on all 64 SUNY
campuses are required to complete Title VI training. This training
emphasizes education on antisemitism, Islamophobia, other forms of
discrimination and harassment. The training underscores the need for
campuses to prevent, investigate, and respond to allegations of
discrimination. All faculty and staff are required to complete the SUNY
Title VI Training training no later than September 30, 2024.


Additional Fall 2024 Compliance Training Assignments in SafeColleges:

   1.

   Active Shooter Run, Hide, Fight Training (15 minutes) - Due 12/31/24
   2.

   Building Supportive Communities: Clery Act and Title IX Training (60
   minutes) - Due 12/31/24 or Live Title IX training session facilitated by
   Kim Irland.  This course will also satisfy the Sexual Harassment Training
   requirement


Accessing your SafeColleges Course Assignments:

   -

   Emails will be sent to @plattsburgh.edu users, with the subject: [Official]
   SafeColleges Compliance Training Assignment. Click the link within the
   email to login.
   -

    Visit the MyPlattsburgh Portal to click the icon on the main menu to
   login.


Additional Fall 2024 Compliance Training Assignment with CETC:

   1.

   NYS CETC Ethics Training (90 minutes) - Due by 12/31/24

The NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (COELIG) maintains
the Comprehensive Ethics Training Course (CETC). The CETC is an ethics
training mandated for all New York State officers and employees. The CETC
is a training that covers the Public Officers Law and other related ethics
laws and regulations. The expectation is 100% compliance by completion of
one (1) training for all NYS employees annually.


Two ways to meet the training requirement:

   1.

   On-Demand Training: Instructions on how to access the SUNY Employee
   Portal and the Statewide Learning Management System (SLMS) are enclosed.
   2.

   Live Training Options: The Commission on Ethics & Lobbying in Government is
   providing live training sessions:

      SUNY Plattsburgh Employee Training hosted by COELIG - Thursday 10/17,

      Additional Live Training Sessions will be announced in mid

Please note: Employees may complete the live CETC training annually to meet
the requirement. However, if an employee completed the on-demand training
in 2023, they are required to complete a live training in 2024.


Reminders:

   -

   All course completions are being tracked for compliance. Non-compliance
   will be communicated to employees and/or their supervisors and Deans or
   Vice Presidents on a case-by-case basis.
   -

   Employees who do not have a dedicated computer or quiet space to meet
   their training requirements and/or deadlines should speak with their
   supervisors so that every effort can be made to support you.
   -

   Employees who need reasonable accommodations to meet training
   requirements and/or deadlines, should speak with their supervisors or
   contact Human Resource Services at hrs at plattsburgh.edu.
