Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024*, is a floating holiday so offices
remain open and employees who work will receive compensatory time off. UUP
Professionals will use this floating holiday for the Friday following
Thanksgiving and as such are to report to work.
Veterans’ Day, Monday, November 11, 2024, is a legal holiday.
Wednesday, November 27, 2024 and Friday, November 29, 2024*, the day before
and after the Thanksgiving holiday, November 28, 2024, have been designated
as Liberal Leave days. There are no classes on these days. The university
is encouraging colleagues to use annual or other appropriate leave at this
time. Offices and/or departments with specific work commitments may be
required to carry out normal work schedules on this day. Any questions
should be directed to your supervisor.
Under the Liberal Leave policy,

staying out of work is voluntary. If you choose to work, in most cases,
you should be able to work in your normal workplace. However, you are
encouraged to discuss your plans with your supervisor as soon as possible.

for additional information.
*UUP Professionals will observe the day after Thanksgiving as a floating
holiday in lieu of the observance of Election Day, in accordance with
Article XIII, Title D of the Policies of the Board of Trustees. Leave
credits should be charged by UUP Professionals and 12-month faculty who
choose not to work on the liberal leave days listed above.
