The CEES Seminar Series presents:

*Geology in the Consulting Industry! Using High-Resolution Site
Characterization Tools to develop Fractured Bedrock Conceptual Site Models.*

Conceptual Site Models (CSMs) are “evergreen documents” developed to
understand the geologic and hydrogeologic controls on contaminant fate and
transport at contaminated sites. High Resolution Site Characterization
(HRSC) datasets such as geophysical (ATV, OTV, gamma, caliper, fluid
temperature, fluid conductivity, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance),
hydrogeologic (K, h), geologic, analytical, and well construction data are used
in conjunction with published literature to develop data driven CSMs. This
approach to site characterization was applied at three fractured bedrock
sites located in the Newark Basin of northern and central New Jersey. 2D
and 3D visualizations were developed to effectively communicate these CSMs
and inform the selection and design of appropriate remediation strategies
for the sites.
