This year’s guest for the annual Black Poetry Day is award-winning poet and
novelist, Phillip B. Williams. In 2023, Williams won the American Book
Award and the Lambda Literary Award for his collection of poems, *Mutiny. *And
his new novel, *Ours*, is a New York Times Notable Book of 2024.
The reading will be on *October 17th at 7:00 PM** in Krinovitz Hall* (in
Hawkins next to Einstein Bagels). This free event is sponsored by the
Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; the President's Office; and the
Redcay Honors Program; and is made possible by charitable gifts to the
Plattsburgh College Foundation. Williams’ books will be available to
purchase at the event.
If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Tracie Church Guzzio at the
Honors Program or at guzziotc at plattsburgh.edu.
