To all faculty and professional staff:

Please consider volunteering to serve on one of the SUNY University Faculty
Senate Standing Committees listed below for the 2024-25 academic year. You
do not need to be involved in our local faculty senate to serve on these
committees. Committee members are expected to attend one in-person meeting
in Saratoga Springs on September 18-19, 2024, but the rest of the work is
typically done virtually. (The cost of attending the meeting is paid by
SUNY.)

*(Note that these are SUNY-wide committees. If you're interested in
volunteering for a local Faculty Senate Committee, see Bridget Haina's
recent emails.)*

>From Jennifer Redinger, SUNY University Faculty Senate Program Manager:

The annual standing committee form is now open and will remain open until
May 17th at 5pm. Please send this email far and wide within SUNY. We are
looking for people to serve on all of our UFS committees. Below are some
important details to remember when applying for a committee. Please read
this email in its entirety before applying.

   1. Anyone within SUNY may apply for a committee. If you are already on
a committee and wish to stay on that committee – YOU STILL NEED TO APPLY.
Committee terms are one year, renewable for up to three years. After you
have served for three years on a committee you must cycle off that
committee. YOU MAY APPLY FOR A NEW COMMITTEE, and we hope that you do!

   2. If you are looking to switch committees you will fill out the form
for new committee selections. You MUST provide an abridged (2 page) CV if
you are moving committees or if you are a new applicant. Applications for
a new committee without a PDF 2-page CV will be discarded. The system only
   accepts a PDF.

   3. The closing date and time is May 17th at 5pm. If you miss this
deadline, you have missed the deadline. I will not be opening the form
again. There is a lot of work that needs to go into organizing the 100+
applications that we get each year, so I need the time to do this work
before the EC meets in June.

   4. The executive committee will meet and review ALL the valid
applications to select their committee for the upcoming year. Again, your
application will be discarded if the CV instructions are not followed. I
will notify EVERY APPLICANT with the EC’s decision on June 28th via
   email.

   5. To register, you will:
      1. Click on the link below. This will bring you to the committee
page. Here you will read the instructions and then click on the link at
the bottom of the page to submit your application.
      2. You will be prompted to log in or create a new log in. If you
already have a log in from a previous year FORGET THAT ONE. You need to
create a new log in each year. SELECT NEW USER...You can use the old
credentials, but you need to create a new login each year.
      1. The password must be at least 8 letters/numbers and at least one
      special character.
      2. REMEMBER THIS LOG IN!!! You will be able to go back to change
your selections, add a cv, and edit your application etc. Until it closes
      on May 17th at 5pm.
