The Betty Ann Engstrom Scholarship is now open for submissions!

This scholarship provides support to programs for LGBTQIA+ students and to
assist the university in providing co-curricular enrichment and campus-wide
support for LGBTQIA+ students. The goal of this scholarship is to help
build and sustain a more diverse and inclusive community.

Scholarship candidates must meet the following criteria:




   1.

   Currently LGBTQIA+ identifying
   2.

   Currently active in the university LGBTQIA+ community.
   3.

   Demonstrating initiative and dedication to improving student life (in
   terms of co-curricular enrichment and social support) for members of the
   university's LGBTQIA+ community.


   1.

   Activities that demonstrate such initiative and dedication include but
   are not limited to the following: maintaining and/or developing LGBTQIA+
   themed programs such as concerts, films, speakers, readings, art and
   photography exhibits, library acquisitions, dances, coffee houses, support
   groups, campus-wide informational outreach.


   2.

   A matriculated full-time student, in good academic standing with a
   minimum GPA of 2.3.


In addition to supporting student scholarships, disbursements from the fund
may be used for other relevant purposes, including but not limited to the
following:




   1.

   Stipends for LGBTQIA+ student peer educators.
   2.

   Funding of LGBTQIA+ programs and activities (e.g. fees for speakers,
   film rentals).
   3.

   Support for LGBTQIA+ Resource Committee programs and activities.
   4.

   Other initiatives supporting LGBTQIA+ students that may be developed
   over time.
