The CEES Seminar Series presents:

*Dr. Tim Mihuc*, Director Lake Champlain Research Institute and Professor
Center of Earth and Environmental Science SUNY Plattsburgh

*Plankton in Lake Champlain: The Adventures of Captain
Fishhook Waterflea (and other invasive species)*

Lake Champlain invasive species over the past 30 years include the zebra
mussel, spiny waterflea and fishhook waterflea to name only a few.  The
Lake Champlain Research Institute has studied these invasions and asked
questions such as:  What are the impacts of on native communities?  Do
communities recover from invasion?  Do invaders persist?   We will explore
these issues and others through the lens of  “The Adventures of Captain
Fishhook Waterflea” , a short story about Lake Champlain.
