Tuesday Talks presents Dr. Tom Friedrich, Professor of English at SUNY
Plattsburgh, speaking on "Meaningful, Inclusive First-Year Researched
Writing at Plattsburgh: An English Composition Perspective" on *Tuesday,
February 28, 2024 at 4:30pm* in the Angell College Center's Cardinal
Lounge. Below is an abstract of Dr. Friedrich's presentation.
Dr. Friedrich will report on his qualitative research on teaching
autoethnographic research to students in Plattsburgh's first-year
composition program. The presentation will concentrate on describing the
theoretical foundations of this methodology as well as the composition
program's autoethnographic research task's core components. He will turn
his fieldnotes on teaching autoethnography and interviews with former
students to highlight common themes suggesting the meaningful,
inclusive nature of this work for Plattsburgh's First-Year student writers.
