*Organizational Unit Name Change Announcement*

Per the College’s Organizational Unit Name or Formation Policy, this
notification outlines the department name change from Counseling and Human
Services to the creation of two individual academic departments:

   - *Department of Counselor Education*
   - *Department of Social Work*

The rationale for the change:

   1. Will comply with recommendations from CACREP accreditors for
   Counselor Education
   2. Will support the promotion of the online MSW program
   3. Is sustainable based on healthy student enrollments with tenured
   faculty serving as Department Chairs
